Hello. In the middle part of the Aughts, I relied on WordReference for all kinds of translations. The atmosphere there was extremely strict but not over-the-top martinet...crazy.
Lately, once with Russian, and now with French, I am jumped on the minute I post a question in other than some top-secret format apparently known only by moderators who seem to spring out of nowhere even in the small hours. And I'm not talking native-speakers of a language you want merely not to massacre; I'm talking speakers of one's own language who email you screen's worth of reasons why your innocent question--i.e., e.g., "effect" or "affect"--is 1) phrased incorrectly; 2) lacking "context"; 3) in violation of terms of service understandable, I think, only on WordReference moderators' odd homeworld.
I'd actually just like another suggestion for translation help, because these people have pousse le bout for the last time.
