I'm looking for the safest muslim country for an American to visit.
I've been looking at the UAE (Dubai) but I want a more traditional muslim country where people still wear their traditional clothing and things aren't too westernized. With this being said, i'm also looking for a place that isn't known to be too hostile towards Americans and where terrorism and kidnappings are extremely low-risk.
Dubai/UAE is absolutely fine. The country is all about money, and something like 65% are foreigners living and working there.
Malaysia/Indonesia are fine. The people are really nice and kind, and I wouldn't worry about terrorism there. I mean, Indonesia has had some problems, but it's incredibly unlikely you'd experience anything at all.
Most of the wealthy oil countries like Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman are fine.....
All the ones I mentioned above, are all ones I've been to and visitied...and they are all fine...and I'd consider them safer than visiting most U.S. cities.

What are your suggestions?
Thanks
I vote Morocco. Most people there are too focused on eating good food and sitting in cafes or home drinking tea or coffee and socializing to care about hating Americans or anyone else. You are more likely to be invited as a guest to someone home to have tea or eat. They are more likely to be eager just to chat with you and see what you think of their country ex the food, culture and traditions.
Kuwait is safe, at least is was when I worked there. But it also has many foreigners there to work and live.
Before a couple of weeks ago, I would have said Turkey & Indonesia but both have had recent attacks. I've never heard of attacks in Malaysia. If you want to understand Islam, go to birthing country, Saudi....it also was safe when I was there but they have had a random attack here or there.
