Hey at least you have one of the best events to watch in your city ! I enjoyed going to the soccer/foot ball games. I went to the last one Trinidad was scheduled to play and got tickets to the semi and fininal game... just in cases Trinidad made it lol (they did not ). It was fun. The day of the final soccer match was the best ... went to one part of the province in the day to watch the game and headed back to downtown Toronto to watch Calle 13 play a free concert!!!

Have fun !

I don't know where all the optimism is coming from, but the news out from the athletes who arrived at the Olympic village are not good at all. Really shoddy dorm rooms, plumbing disasters, unfinished work, electrical fires.....and people getting their things stolen and getting mugged on the streets. A truly third world experience.

Beijing was amazing, despite people complaining about dictatorship and possible air pollution, which wasn't even an issue. London was quaint and uneventful. But this rio thing will be very interesting in all the wrong way.

In a country that is in developing process, those small annoyances are nothing compared to the improvements that are coming.
I myself had an opportunity to make some money that I coudn't in a year of a severe crisis like we're living. Rio had lots of upgrades, and the athletes are enjoying the happy city that Rio is. In a nice place like this, this little disarrangements are nothing.

What about that: every time a foreign tourist or a foreign athlete is actually mugged in the streets of Rio during the Olympics, you post a link here, with the name of the tourist or athlete who was mugged.

Let's see if you can collect more than 5 links during the more than 2 weeks of games with hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists and athletes in the city...

Ok, so are you implying that rio has no problems? There were none of these concerns in London or Beijing.

I feel sorry for the Australians. They just had their zika protective shirts stolen along with a laptop. This was while they were evacuated for a fire in the basement of the lodging.

heard the Koreans also had anti-zika shirts... did they just spray DEET on the shirts? Good for about 3 weeks

It's not like Zika is just floating in the air that they need shirts to fight off the virus
