I wonder what the architecture is like in Istanbul. Moscow has stunning architecture downtown but awful architecture outside of the center. Buenos Aires is pretty shocking in that the good architecture extends well past Downtown
Well apparently Moscow is going to get a face lift since huge swaths of old commie blocks are going to be forcibly demolished and 1.6 million people resettled, however I have a feeling these new apartments won't be anything to marvel at, and it will become a sea of high rise cookie cutters. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.the...shchevka-flats

Someone pls strangle Moscow's mayor already - the old one, the current one and the one to come.
This is a comparison I would have never thought would be on here. Moscow is not the city that interests me, however.
I'm in the process of comparing Buenos Aires to Istanbul. I would like to visit both as I am interested in possibly buying a small property in either city some day. Both are now similar in price from what I gathered on a price comparison chart between cities. Buenos Aires has a bit more purchasing power + slightly higher food prices.
I thought about India, Chile, Taiwan, and Thailand, but this thread is not about those places.
Maybe it looked way better back during soviet times, but I think Moscow looks generally better than what it did 5-10 years ago, and I'm happy to see they are making the city more pedestrian friendly. However beware, number 10 is going to give you a heart attack.
I think Moscow is a fascinating city, but I don't have any interest in living there.
I wonder how it stacks up, though, price-wise with Buenos Aires and Istanbul.
I really enjoyed the pictures in the last post, by the way. Super! I appreciated the time spent linking them.
