Idea shamelessly stolen from this thread over in the US forum.

I’ll start:

- Berlin’s nightlife and COL
- Boston’s architecture and parks
- Tokyo’s public transit and consistent urban form
- Sydney’s climate and location

What about you? Let me know your thoughts

What is COL?

Not sure I understand the thread.

Combine four things i like in other cities to make my perfect city?

1. Madrid nightlife and cultural offering, it beats Berlin anyday.
2. The greenery and beaches of Rio de Janeiro.
3. The architecture of brussels and antwerp Belgium with its art deco and art nouveau
4. Weather and women quality of medellin colombia.

Im from Chicago by the way.

Yes! Your post is spot on. The thread I linked to in the OP has a bunch of examples. What don’t you understand?

I disagree, but to each their own!

Maybe im biased, i associate Germany with bauhauses and robotic seríous people, plus gray weather.

I lived in Switzerland for several years and I always dreaded going to Germany.

Whenever I live in europe (which is every couple of years) i gravitate towards the south, i like the mediterranean vibe of Italy, Spain, South France.

You should visit Berlin when you get a chance! It's far from robotic or serious. (weather can be kinda gray, tho)

Give me the island of Manhattan, surrounded by the topography, climate and beaches of Sydney, the infrastructure of Tokyo, and year-round warm ocean water of Miami. I would also love to put a Central London, Madrid or Barcelona next to Manhattan, in lieu of Sydney inner suburbs, but I know you said only 4 cities

Berlin nightlife = techno.

Berlin was cool teen years ago.

Sorry but Germany and cool is just not synonymous

Germany is great if you want to live a predictable safe life with a rule for everything.
