Since I'm already living in Japan, I wouldn't mind staying here. But I'm not sure how I would live here if I wasn't in the military unless I became a citizen. Otherwise, I would live in:
- Australia
- Canada
- France
- Italy
- Spain
- Switzerland
- UK
- Parts of Mexico (Guadalajara or Mazatlan)
I would choose Mexico or Spain. Maybe canada because its close. I'm curious to know why people like Spain so much. Is it the euro? lol No one's mentioned England. Well at first glance that I'm reading.
So are you saying Japan is a good place to move to for someone who does not prefer to be in the USA anymore? Is Japan still suffering economically? I am asking because the only news I seem to hear is that Japan is in a horrible economic mess. What is the truth?
Japan is out of the recession last month before the US, so better than the USA.
Tokyo was ranked 3rd best city to live in the world (and #1 megalopolis to live) by international lifestyle magazine monocle. #1 and #2 were zurich and copenhagen. Fukouka and Kyoto also made the list
Canada is very appealing to me. There is something about it that gives me a sense of fresh air in many of the social issues we struggle in the US, but then again, it could be just a feeling and nothing but a feeling. If I had lots of money not needing to work for a living I would move to Lisbon, Portugal, my favorite cosmopolitan city. The New York area has been my adopted home for more than 30 years and I love it with all its imperfections.
