I think most countries havent become democratic like USA; so i am curious which countries are governed by monarchies or if thats the word...i know Britain is one (i assume thats most obvious??) is the Catholic Church or Christian Church still supreme to European countries? and by supreme i mean the pope or whoever having a higher rank than those who govern a country...

Are you kidding? Europe isn't Christian for about two centuries and the modern Italians booted the Papacy out of what used to be the Papal States in central Italy in about 1871, reduced to Vatican City within Rome, an area of around 440 square meters.
Anyway, European monarchies today are Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, also Andorra, Luxembourg, Monaco, Lichtenstein.
Mount Athos, an area of 50 Km in length, 8 to 12 Km in width, for a total of about 500 square kilometres, on a peninsula in northeast Greece, is a semi-autonomous polity of the Orthodox Church.
The European Union today covers around 10,600,000 km².

Britain has a monarchy, but is not ruled by it. Same with Malaysia. The only countries that I can think of are Brunei and some of those basket-case African countries.
In most constitutional moncarcies, the King or Queen or their Representative (in the case of a non residing monarch, very common in the old british colonies) has the power to dimiss a government and call a genearal election. Which normally only ever happens when they are supposed to ie every 3 , 4 or 5 years depending upon the terms of the contries constitution. They usually spend the rest of their time hosting parties, visiting hospitals, opening art exhabitions etc (in other words nothing!)
On a day to day basis they have absolutley no say what so ever in the governence of the country the formation of policy etc, in the case of England and its former conlonies that has being the case for at least the last 200 years. As teak pointed out countries that are actaully ruled and governed by a king or queen are very rare these days.
