I can live with errors now and then; I take solace in the fact that, if nothing else, I know how to spell apostrophe.
So do we.
The "apostrophy awareness" was a mis-spelling in the actual quiz result when we copied and pasted our answers into this forum. Blame OKCUPID.COM and don't be a smart arse.
Only 89%, which disappoints me. I wish they'd show the questions which they think I missed.
What I want to know is how the heck you can get an 89% with 20 questions. Each one of 20 is worth exactly 5%; you can't get an 89.
Edit: Took it again, changed one answer and got a 91 - which STILL isn't possible with a total of 20 questions.
I too wish that we could find out which questions were missed.
I did really bad.
I find these links here and there and like to have some fun with it.
I did studies in advanced psych and know some of these test are pretty close to the mark as far as accuracy is concerned. Alas; it's a dating site and we shouldn't expect accolades of accuracy as we would in other circumstances.
They are generalized tools for fun.
Hey Rocky Raab; congratulations for being the first with perfection
I'm still not sure what set of rules they're using (yes, both of those are correct!) but the one about CDs (again) should be CD's by older rules. Modern Style Guides allow us to drop the apostrophe when pluralizing numerals and initialized contractions. Older rules don't (again, again). So 8s, TVs and CDs are correct when we are speaking of more than one numeral 8, TV or CD. The Brits also deviate a bit from American usage, calling some uses correct that we'd (again) shun.
Yes, I know my freakin' apostrophes!
