Hello everyone,

I know that I saw a post on this a while back, but I can't find it now. I am still earning my Bachelor's degree and we were thinking of moving before I get my teaching credential so I could earn it in Wyoming and then have connections through student teaching, etc. when I go to get a job. However, as I search I don't see any colleges with teaching programs nearby. Are there any?

Thank you all for your time

Wyoming has one university. It is in Laramie, WY. Some of the community colleges offer distance learning (with bachelor degrees) from U.W. and other universities in other states. I believe the only community college in Park County is in Powell. I would contact them directly.

If you're looking at a teaching cert in a secondary subject, this might work for you. Montana State University - Northern Plains Transition to Teaching

There used to be a distance ed offering for earning an elementary cert through UW, but that was discontinued.

Montana State University Billings is the closest university to Cody. You could also look into the UW distance courses as others have mentioned.

Unfortunately, the UW distance courses for education are no longer available. They were discontinued with the preceding academic year.

I got my undergrad degree at MSU-Billings. Their education program is outstanding. There may be a possibility of getting as many basics as you can through Northwest College in Powell, then transfer to MSU-B. Billings is less than a 2 hour drive from Cody or Powell. Let me know if I can help you in any way!
