What is Rivertion like? How's the people, shopping, schools, childcare, just basically anything you can tell me. My husband just got a job offer there, and we were needing to know any information we could get. Thanks.

What kind of work will your husband be doing? Riverton is a decent community and offers fairly good recreational options for families. Housing is difficult to find and is generally over priced.

I was transferred to riverton back in October. I think that as a whole the community is nice. Especially for someone who is not single or lets say "younger" in age. There is not much here to do other than go to the bars which in my opinion the bars here are pretty lame. All in all I am happy with the transfer and plan on making the best out of my situation up here.

I grew up in Fremont County and have lived and worked in Riverton. It's "okay" by my standards. I think you might be happier in Lander and having your husband commute to Riverton. Even living in Pavillion/Kinnear may be better. No matter where you go, people are generally nice here in Wyoming....but there's always a bad apple in every barrel no matter where you are.....Riverton has "more" as far as shopping, etc....but for living standards, I would still choose Hudson/Lander....

I'm not sure on the younger schools, but there Riverton has only one high school (so does Lander)....but Riverton sits "on" Wind River Reservation", Lander sits right outside. Not that it really makes that much of a difference. I'm also unsure about childcare since I didn't have kids at the time I lived in Riverton....but if it's like everywhere else, childcare is hard to come by (GOOD childcare anyway).

If there's something specific, I can see if I can find out for you....but your question is pretty vague.

Our family also may be relocating to Riverton, depends if he accepts the job offer. We too are curious about the area(rental housing). I have been to Riverton b4 and it is a really nice town. Has a lil bit of everything. Good size town. We have 4 children and are looking forward to going there. They do have the Windriver Casino there also. You can go to the Riverton's Chamber of Commerce website and get a free relocation pckt sent to u, i just did earlier tonite!
