Default Real Estate Price Hikes in Wyoming in Recent Years

Looks like real estate prices have doubled in some areas in the last several years. Other than energy and tourism, are there other factors?

I think desireability is also a factor. A lot of folks come out this way or through WY while on vacation and really enjoy the area and the people and so a lot end up wanting to move here. Low taxes is also another possible factor.

Depends on what real estate you're talking about. Real estate has (before the bust) doubled and tripled in the last few years in most of the U.S..

Wyoming's most desirable scenic areas -- mountain real estate -- was a little slower coming up on the radar for out-of-state investors than in some states like Colorado. I've read that Teton County (Jackson Hole) is now the richest county in the U.S. (per capita I assume). You don't find much cheap real estate in a county like that.
