I love the seasons and the variety of weather, too, but I don't think you would be missing Wyoming this morning! It was 19 below (not counting that darn wind!). Now that's taking winter a bit too far!

Christmas TREE?, I take it you were from the 20% forested region, not the 60% windswept prairie.

We went on a trek Thanksgiving day to find the largest tumble week, everyone brought one back, then vote for best, burn the rest while spraying 'snow' and glitter on the winner. Hung it from the ceiling in the corner, add white lights, plenty of room for presents, but no money for that. It was OK, I loved to sleep under the 'lit up' tumbleweed, dreaming of Christmas. I still often sleep near the Christmas tree with the lights on and fire crackling all night, I find it quite peaceful and relaxing, (While the wind howls at 60 mph. My childhood home had those metal weather strips on doors and they whistled quite a tune!

Bah, humbug!

I'm with you, smith11. Yeah it's colder than a well digger's you-know-what, but I rather enjoy that. It could be worse. I've been in places where it's so blasted hot on Christmas, it's pure misery. Besides, the wind, the cold and the landscape...to me that's what keeps the riff-raff away from here.

Horray for global warming!

Merry Christmas!

Must be the big ravines and canyons like Hell's Half Acre.

I'm with you, I can't think of a more lovely place to spend the Holidays. I just love the clear blue skies and the ever changing scenery of the Bighorns as new snow falls on them. I love the way the night sky almost looks like day when it's snowing or about to snow. The crisp air and the landscape covered with a blanket of snow, where chimneys are glowing and hot chocolate is flowing it all says Christmas to me.

I wish I had a good camera to take some pictures for you, but alas I don't, hopefully someone will post some nice Holiday pics. in the picture thread.

Meanwhile you have a very Merry Christmas!

Yes stealthrabbit...Christmas TREE! LOL! That was tradition for my family every year. We headed up to the Bighorns with our tree permit and spent a few days snowmobiling and skiing and the day we left we cut our Christmas tree down that we would bring home for the Holidays. I guess I could go to a tree farm here and cut down our Christmas tree but for me it's just not quite the same. I LOVE the idea of the tumble weed!! My friends back here think I am nuts but I guess it is all about where you grew up and what you love!
