The River Rat has just opened on the SC side of Lake Wylie. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm a bit skeptical due to the fact that the owners are the same ones who had the Papa Pino's next to Carowinds (now closed), and are currently the owners of The Gridiron (IMO, very average food). I'm wondering if they are a little better with seafood as opposed to Italian.

Is it in the same location as the old River Rat? It was such and "old faithful" type place back in the day, I'm not sure new owners could bring back that feel that it once had.

I'd be open to try it though

Looks like their food and service reviews online are split about 60:40 for the bad. Very sad about that. They've been open 9-ish months now and should have all the 'kinks' ironed out. Whenever that happens, I look to management...and I'm NOT betting on The River Rat making it. It's a looong swim UPstream!
