We just came back from a house hunting trip. We like Lake Wylie, but I am concerned about the city water vs well situations. Anyone able to fill me in on the pros and cons of each in that area???

We moved to Lake Wylie 4 years ago, having never had a well and septic. We are very happy with it. If we lose power we lose running water but we've only experienced that once for a few hours. You could solve that with a generator.

Your water will be tested during the house buying process. Our well has a filter on it which we change every few months. We also have a filter in our fridge. I think the water is great, no taste. The well filter is the only maintenance. It's so nice not to have a water and septic bill every month.
