Remarks: RIGHT AFTER ROTATION A FLOCK OF SEVERAL HUNDRED BIRDS ROSE OFF THE RWY. WE PASSED THRU THE FLOCK & HIT 30-40 BIRDS. THE ARPT MGR SAID THAT THERE WERE OVER 100 CARCASSES. VERTICAL TAIL IS DENTED, WING BOOTS ARE FULL OF HOLES WITH BONE FRAGMENTS STICKING OUT AND RT ENG INGESTED SOME WITH DMG TO THE FAN, N1 PROBE, COMPRESSOR AND BIRDS PARTS IN THE BURNER CAN. A/C WAS FLOWN AROUND THE PATTERN AND LANDED W/O INCIDENT. ALL FAN BLADES WERE DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR AND WERE REPLACED. A/C IS USING A RENTED ENG UNTIL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. DEICE BOOTS WERE REPLACED IN AUGUST. HAVE NOT DETERMINED IF THE PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT ENG WAS BIRD RELATED IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE CHEMICAL USED TO CLEAN UP THE ORGANIC MATTER. (AUG UPATE FROM OPER) COST SO FAR IS $500,000.
