Carriage & Western Art Museum


Dedicated to preserving the vehicles that once dotted the landscape of the Old West, the Carriage and Western Art Museum opened in 1972 and has carriages, wagons, saddles, and more. The museum is open Monday through Friday from 9 am until 3 pm for self-guided tours. Docent tours are available on the third Sunday of the month from 1 pm until 4 pm. Private tours are available for groups and school field trips by reservation. The collection of saddles includes more than 50 of these classic riding items which belonged to Clark Gable, Will Rogers, and Jimmy Stewart, among others. The museum can be rented for special events for those who want to host their wedding or party among the romance and excitement of the Old West. The museum is not available for rental during the summer months of June, July, and August. Renters can utilize round tables, banquet tables, and folding chairs. Spaces available for rent can accommodate parties of 20-250 people. Rental space can be expanded to the outside area. This is the perfect destination for those who want an elegant event with the fun flavor of the west. The museum is the perfect destination for those interested in learning more about transportation from the past.
