Flora Springs

Jerry and Flora Komes started Flora Springs roughly 30 years ago. Flora Springs is a winery in St. Helena Napa Valley, California. When they first found the winery it was abandoned, not producing wine for several years. However, Flora worked for a decade to overcome the neglect and ivy that had over run the place. Eventually, she located the 19th century roots of grape vines that she nursed back to health along with her husband. John Komes and Carrie along with Julie and Pat Garvey have run the winery into the 21st century.

The winery is located at the Mayacamas Mountains in the northwest section of Rutherford Appellation. They began the vineyard in 1978 as artisan winemakers offering something a little different than the typical wines. The vineyard is 650 acres with stone winery walls and caves to help store the bottles in a cool and dry place.

Their signature wines are Trilogy, Sauvignon Blanc, and Barrel Fermented Chardonnay. Each one of these wines has their own story which is told to those who tour the winery and come to wine tastings. There are two tasting rooms at Flora Springs: The Room and the Estate.
