It features a learning annex available to local schools for onsite or classroom lessons. It offers information and materials concerning homesteaders and early resident history and serves as a repository and educational resource of the community's photos, period dress, oratory lessons and artifacts. It provides living history re-enactments for the community to enjoy. The museum is open Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm until 4 pm. Donations are accepted from visitors, but there is no official admission fee. Guests can enjoy Mount Dora walking or driving tours with a pre-tour presentation. Ghost Walks are available the first and third Friday and Saturday of each month. Ghost Walks destinations include Drawdy Lane, the Donnelly House, the Old Train Depot, the Dr. Nutter Home, the Lakeside Inn and Gables Alley. Participants hear ghost stories about Dr. Nutter, Ms. Tempy of the Lakeside Inn, Abraham Hatfield, the Librarian Ghost and Moonshine Calvin Calhoun.
