Mount Lemmon Ski Valley

Most people travel to Arizona for the heat and desert thrills, but surprisingly to some, there is skiing in the desert. Located in Mount Lemmon, Arizona is the Mount Lemmon Ski Valley. Here you will find skiing from mid-December to the beginning of April. The ski area offers 200 acres of skiing terrain and the average snowfall is about 200 inches. Snowing in the Santa Catalina Mountains is a once in a lifetime experience. It is the southernmost ski area in the country and the summit of the Mount Lemmon reaches just over 9,000 feet. The resort offers ski rentals and ski instruction, and there is a restaurant onsite so skiers can break for a meal and return to skiing.
