Pacific Heights

Pacific Heights is a privileged neighborhood in San Francisco, California that is one of the most scenic and park-like neighborhoods and areas of the entire city. Blocks of Victorian mansions with views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge make the neighborhood one of the most coveted

The neighborhood is bordered by Van Ness and Presidio avenues and Pine and Vallejo streets and was first colonized by those with new money in the late 1800s when the construction of a new cable-car line made the area accessible. The extravagant dwellings that characterize the neighborhood today stand as a testimony to the desire of those early residents to impress their Nob Hill neighbors. It seemed that neighbors were always trying to impress each other and keep up with the Jones'.

With its shopping options, scenic views and pretty side streets, the Pacific Heights neighborhood was made for sunny weekend afternoon strolling and coffee sipping at one of the many outdoor seating coffee shops. Though the area quiets down considerably in the evening, a cluster of excellent restaurants have opened in recent years, giving the night owls a reason to stick around after dark and grab a cocktail with a great tasting dinner.
