The Cannery

The Cannery of San Francisco, California is found at 2801 Leavenworth Street. It is bordered by Jefferson, Leavenworth, Beach, and Hyde Streets. The Cannery was once the Del Monte Fruit Cannery with two levels. Today, these two levels of factory space house specialty shops, restaurants, and art galleries. It is even linked by an arcade, bridge, and balconies. Often one can see street performers at The Cannery performing for visitors.

It is possible to reach the Cannery by cable car taking Hyde Street a half a block from the actual factory. Buses and the Muni line all reach the Cannery at half a block. There are plenty of full service restaurants and little eateries to enjoy while shopping at places like The Anchorage Shopping Center Garage. This garage is at 500 Beach Street.

Guests can enjoy plenty of hotels in the nearby area including the Argonaut Hotel, which is at the edge of Fisherman's Wharf. It is a turn of the century hotel with architecture of red brick walls and wood beams. The welcome center is also nearby at Pier 39 for those who may wish to find out more about San Francisco and what there is to do at the Cannery.
