Tobin James Cellars

The story of Tobin James Cellars began when Tobin (Toby) asked for an excess plot of grapes that were deemed unusable. With the extra grapes, Tobin made his first wine in 1985 called Blue Moon. Blue Moon was a white zinfandel that went on to win many gold medals.

Today, Tobin James Cellars resides at an old stage coach stop and was built from the ground up in 1994. The location is eight miles east of Paso Robles and sits on over 70 acres of vineyards and oak covered hills. Currently Toby, his business partners Lance and Claire Silver oversee the entire winemaking process as well as sales and marketing.

Tobin has several events throughout the year and is known for their Tobin James Cellars Caribbean Cruises. The cruises take place in October, February and July where Tobin and his staff join a group of their wine club members on a seven day cruise. In addition to the regular festivities aboard the cruise ship there are special events planned just for those associated with the Tobin James wine club. Events include an auction, dinner, and several invite only parties. The cruise can be booked through a travel agent or through the cellar office manager.
