Uprising Rock Climbing Center

Joshua Tree Uprising Rock Climbing School provides opportunities for individuals to try climbing for the first time or learn advanced skills. The school offers courses year round in Joshua Tree National Park which has is known for its great rock climbing conditions. The guides are trained climbers with a wealth of experience teaching people of all skill levels. The climbing school offers a series of programs well suited to the climbers skill level and needs. Private guiding is available for full day or half day climbs.

The climbing school runs two beginner courses, one basic level and the second class where students can build on existing techniques and take on more challenging climbs. Learning to solo climb is covered on the intermediate course as well as understanding equipment limitations, rock quality, and anchor building. Other advanced courses include multi-pitch climbing and leading a climb. The school also runs the AMGA Top Rope Site Managers Course and tests multiple times a year.

Courses includes all necessary equipment and belay certification. The best time of year for climbing is from October to May, although the weather can be unpredictable December through February. All teachers are certified climbers with thousands of hours of safety training and emergency response training.
