Ventana Vineyards

The Ventana Vineyards located in Monterey, California is a fine local winery with tasting room and wine club accreditation. Located at 2999 Salinas Highway in Monterey, the award winning vineyard offers a wide variety of estate whites and reds. The red wines are personally hand-punched in the cap at least two times a day for optimum contact of the juice to the skins which leads to the distinction of the wines. Ventana's red wines age a minimum of 18 months and rest in bottle approximately another 6 months prior to release. The open top fermentors allow some of the alcohol to dissipate resulting in a more fruit forward wine profile without alcohol aromas.

The Ventana Winery is located on the same property as the vineyard, so that when the grapes are brought in from the field they are directly pressed and then pumped into chilling tanks. They use a Europress that allows them to adjust the amount of pressure being applied to extract the juice from the skins. It is the immediate crushing that ensures purity of taste and allows the fruit to retain its vibrant flavor. Because of the unique creation of their wines, Ventana is recognized as a premier winery.
