Warm Springs Mines

Warm Springs Mines is one area in Death Valley National Park, California visitors might decide to see. Much of Death Valley National Park is set up for off road vehicles, including the road to Warm Springs Canyon and the mine. It is best to have a 4x4 or SUV than a low riding car. Some of the roads up to sites are dirt, without boulders, but much of the roads experience washout and deep ravines.

Warm Springs Mines was a claim Mrs. Grantham had in the early 1900s. She did not have a mill in the beginning when she began to mine Talc, but later after other mineral deposits were being found she added in a mill, buildings, and even dormitories. In fact as the mining site was used in the later 1900s flushable toilets and other modern amenities were added.

Warm Springs Mines were last used in 1980 by the Pfizer Corporation, who bought out Mrs. Grantham a decade or more earlier. The buildings and mining equipment remain behind allowing visitors to see how it was thirty years ago. The canyon is also one of the prettiest with various desert bushes and animals.
