Kitten Age: 15 weeks !!

Ok havent been able to get on here in a while. Sorry!

Things have been up and down with Rogue and Shady recently. The got to the point were they were 'civil' to each other, but Rogue would still wind Shady up. It got really bad and for a few days there was actual points were we had to lift Shady off Rogue... he would pin her down by the neck. There was never any puncture wounds but it still scared the daylights out of us, but...

Kitten age: 7.5 weeks
Days in the house: 2.5 weeks


After half a week of Rogue being around the house all day every day, and a few close encounters! We had some process in the bonding.

Rogue was still as brave and playful as ever, and continued to race over to Shady all the time – making us all jump and panic. One day we were not quick enough to stop her annoying him when he was eating and he swiped her with his paw, but did not claw or hurt her....

Kitten age: 7 weeks
Days in the house: 2 weeks

Once Rogue fully mastered how to leap our barrier in the doorway, we had little option but to allow her out and close off the room doors that we did not want her in i.e. bedrooms, bathrooms etc. This meant that she was fully able to chase Shady, and more importantly (to her) his tail.

Shady didn’t adapt to this movement well and took to hiding under the beds again… until he realised that she could also get...

Kitten age: 6 weeks – 7 weeks
Days in the house: 1 – 2 weeks

When everyone was settled in the evenings, we made it a habit to have both cats in the livingroom, where Rogue could play and Shady could observe.

This allowed them to get used to each other from a distance, and we were there to help should Rogue get to close – Shady was still not allowing her to get to close, but at least now he would sit in the same room with her… even if it was only when...

Days in the house: 2 days

We had Rogue for only 2 days when we introduced her to Shady. We had casually let her in the livingroom under supervision and made no big deal of it. Shady trotted in and actually stopped in his tracks and just stared at her. Rogue on the other hand, having no fear bounded over to him and wanted to play – Shady was having none of this, hissed and ran off to hide under the beds… leaving Rogue somewhat bewildered!...
