Yucca Valley versus San Gorgonio Pass--to retire in
Posted 01-15-2010 at 04:06 AM by watchman77
Hi Everyone, I am doing some internet research for my parents who don't have a computer. They're looking for a place to invest in a retirement home, and to retire since they can no longer afford Simi Valley where they currently live. They're thinking Yucca Valley due to the friendliness they encountered there on a brief trip, also there seem to be a lively mix of people-artists and down to earth folk, fellow baby boomers, etc. From scouring these forums, some things to consider before moving there it would seem would be the bugs, it does get hot (not unbearably so like Palm Springs or Phoenix), and people tend to believe Yucca could be the next Boulder, Flagstaff or Sedona. It would seem to be a good place to retire and/or invest in property. Are there any other factors to consider? Positive or negative? Biased and unbiased impressions, qualified and unqualified impressions or hunches welcome! Thanks!
Also, would anyone recommend The San Gorgonio Pass Region instead--the communities of Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon? And if so, what is preferable about these areas? Or, if not, why are these areas not a good place to retire for a couple of active baby boomers?
Thanks so much for any input.

Wantig to Move to Palm Springs CA
Hello! I'm currently in the military but will be retiring within a year and want to relocate to Palm Springs CA. My degree is in Household Management or shall I say Property Management. What are my chances with landing a good job there knowing that the economy is still not the greatest.Posted 11-20-2010 at 08:27 AM by rambro41
