This blog is basically to chart my progress in trying to lose weight...

This is a Record of my daily events including my family when appropriate for my other family members to see if they choose to.

This is my legacy, for my family to read after I am dead and burried. So, any thing on here is meant for them only and if it offends anyone, my apologies, but, its not meant for you and them

Chow for now...

May the LORD Bless all who see this.

I wish you well...

Mud Bath

Posted 08-23-2011 at 01:34 PM by woodworkingmenace

Last night didnt fair out so good...
First off, we had a water line break in the City. NO WATER!!! (Ok, just a trickle came out, that was still in the City lines, but, not enough to take a shower or bath). My Son, washed off in a bucket, after it took him sometime to fill. I waited til 4am to take a bath, figuring the water would be 'on' by that time, but, no go, so, I went to bed.

I woke up at 1:30pm again, and got my stuff together to take that bath I had been wanting So, I fill the tub up.. Brown Water!! GAG!! All the lime that has been laying in the water lines, (and they put 'tons' of this stuff in the water, to coat the water pipes, so they dont corrode, and the residuals, just lay in the lines, ready to be stirred up, when ever you open a fire hydrant or have a water line break).

I told my Wife, OK, Im going to exchange
'stink' for dirt this time, sheesh...
So, I took my bath, then, when I got a brown soap scum on the water, dumped the water and refilled. Still brown, but, less brown this time... Do I feel clean? NO! But, the stink is off of me, (obese people need to bathe more often then skinny people, because they sweat more, and heart patients sweat even more than any of them).

I had my Wife call the Filtration Plant (Water Plant), and ask them to flush the lines around my area. LOL.. Wouldnt ya just know it LOL... They told her, that they would get to it, as SOON as they fix another water line break!!!

Ive seen it on the Internet News, that the drying out of the soil is causing all these breaks in States that are experiencing the massive heat that we have been having, but, I didnt realize that the lines that are 10 feet or more underground, would actually be affected??

I do know, when the City upgraded thier Water System, and added five pounds of pressure to the system, that we started having massive water breaks! Six in one day, as I recall, BAM, BAM, BAM, one right after the other, down the same line, ten or twenty feet apart. Five pounds of pressure, on an aging water system is crucial, and will blow old cast iron apart.

They have been replacing the cast iron piping with plastic now, when ever they get a water break of immense size. But, cast iron breaks across the pipe, so you can put a 'collar' on it, and get back to serving the Public soon. But, with plastic... It breaks lenght wise, so, if you put a plastic piece ten feet long, or longer, it may go the entire lenght and you have to replace the entire pipe!! Aint progress wonderful, *sigh*

We had an Earthquake while I was taking a bath!! NO, Not my fault this time... Thats only if I fall out of bed !
My Wife was sitting on the couch, and felt the couch moving, and thought her 'sugar' was low again. (Yes, it happened yesterday again, and this is getting out of hand, when she keeps forgetting to eat... It was 68!! My Son gave her a piece of fudge he got from Kennywood, and it shot up to 200!! Cant win fer losin, sheesh!!).
She tried to move the couch, after she got off of it, and found that she couldnt duplicate the movement, so, she got on the computer with her Sister and she told her that we had just gone through and Earthquake. Wife rushed in to see if I felt it, and I told her no. Im a fat man, in 50 gallons of water, in a cast iron tub, so, not much is going to move me LOL.
hmmm 350 pounds (me), 417 pounds of water, and the tub, weighs approximately 150 pounds, so, almost a Thousaind pounds to move, on 4 legs.. Nada!

Hmmmm I should rethink my position around here now... If we are going to get Earthquakes, then whats the use of living with Snow, Floods, Landslides, Tornadoes, and all the other calamaties, instead of living in California? Out there, all I ever see is Earthquakes that they have to contend with.. (OK, this year, they had the extreme heat, but, so did most of America too)...
Maybe I will wait a few years and see if more of these start to happen...But, its a bit too late for me to want to move to California at my age now... So, I will put up with this shake, rattle, and roll and hope that my house of cards doesnt fall in, (since my home is over 100 years old, and made of old street bricks), and see what the LORD has in my future

I wish you well...
