Psalm 10:1 - Why, LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? - The writer of Psalm 10 asked a question that many of us ask today, especially when something bad happens. It's easy for us to say "where was God", or "why did God let that happen?" It makes me think of what Job said in the old testament, - Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? - (Job 2:10.) No one wishes for bad things to happen, but the Bible teaches that they do and will and only God knows why. It is natural for us to think that God doesn't care or that he doesn't exist or whatever. But then we need to remember his words -"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD - (Isaiah 55:8.) It can be very difficult and sometimes impossible for us to always agree with God and to want to do things our way. As hard as it can be sometimes we need to have faith in God and believe he has everything under control. If we forget this, we might also forget his plan for our salvation. Everyone inherited a sinful nature from Adam and Eve and God sent his son Jesus to be the only sacrifice for all our sins, because there is nothing we can do about them on our own, and faith in Jesus is the only thing that can save us. Anyone can take God's free gift of salvation. Many people will refuse his free gift for whatever reason and pay the price. We need to remember that God is close by us, even when it seems he is far off. What About Jesus?
