Although true, hunters DO eat, at least the skilled ones do, my name derives from the world of horses.
And because the word hunter is in my name, people automatically think I'm a guy. Not even close.
Whenever I meet someone named Hunter I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "That's my name, too!"

Such mixed feelings! I live a ways from my mom. She rarely answers the phone. If I visit she can only stand about a half hour visit even after years of not seeing her. I love her, of course. She is who she is. She's older but nothing's changed in many years. When I see women her age still riding horses, I wonder why my mama is the way she is.
My own kids live a ways from me. They rarely call. Not really true, the youngest calls when he's hungry and standing in front of a Chinese Restaurant.
At one point when my kids were young we were very strapped financially. There was an all-you-can-eat chicken buffet at a local fast food place. Under 10 could eat for about $1.50 and under 4 ate free. I'd take them, pay for the oldest, the youngest ate free and I'd watch them eat. It didn't matter if I was hungry or not. I don't even remember being hungry. I was just happy they could eat until they were full. They grew to hate chicken. My friends often said they wished they were thin like I was. I advised them to feed their kids and eat whatever was left over on their plates when they were done. That was how I stayed so thin.
I'd do it all over again for my kids. It's what mothers do.
