Sunday ~~ November 2, 2014 ~~ Regrets, Returns, Reruns and Time Tossed Backward....

Posted 11-02-2014 at 09:53 PM by CSD610

What did you think when you read the title of this blog? Did you continue to read or decide that you really did not want to find out what was on the next screen? That you did not want to hear
"The rest of the story"?

Nothing too exciting really just random thoughts and words gathered in my brain throughout the day and leftover from the weekend full of activities.

So shall we start backward on the list and move from the last topic to the first topic? Okay, I'll start with Time Tossed Backward.
If you haven't figured this one out the time changed yesterday at 4:00 AM and it went backwards according to the old rhyme.
"Spring forward and fall backward" to remind one easily which way the clock goes. I don't particularly care for the time change but it isn't important enough to wad my panties in a bunch either so we move along one direction or the other and continue our day to day moments.

Reruns is next and honestly I have no idea why that particular word came to mind. The only thing I can think of is that Mr. CSD has been watching DVD's of NCIS episodes so those are technically "reruns" because they are past episodes. I don't watch television so that is really the only way I can think of that would make me grasp that word and toss it in this blog.

Returns is next and that can pertain to anything that can be returned or any place you have been at least once that you want to return to.
It can be that pair of shorts that really didn't fit quite right after you got them home and tried them on again or the Grand Canyon where you visited as a child and would like to see as an adult. Do you think it will look as big as it did when you were a child? Do you think the ocean is bigger now or smaller? Do you feel small near the ocean or the mountains or the grand canyon?

I feel small at the ocean but only if I am close to it at night on the beach surrounded by pure darkness. There is nothing there that can be seen with your eyes. You can only see with your ears, the sound of the waves, the stillness of the wind, the softness of the sand, the wet of the water itself, the wondering what just ran across your foot.

How big is the ocean and how small are you in comparison to the rest of the planet? How big is the ocean and how small are you in comparison to the rest of the beach that you cannot see or feel, only hear?

Then there are regrets. What are regrets really? Are they things that you have done or things you haven't done? Do you regret making a deposit of $500.00 in the bank instead of $400.00? Do you regret asking someone out for a date then not showing up for the date? Do you regret turning left at the stop light instead of turning right 3 years ago? How do you determine what to regret? How do you determine the level of regret that is necessary to make whatever it is an actual regret? Are you remorseful as well as having regrets?

I know, lots of questions this blog but I'm curious if the writing I have been doing is just too preachy so I have decided to try something else.

I used to get more than 300 views on the blog but now I am lucky to get a few more than 50.
I know I really should not worry with something so trivial but alas, I am human and I do so this is it for today.

I hope I have not been preachy but have given you all something or more than a few things to ponder if you choose to do so.

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams as you wander your timbers of slumber.
