I want it, and I want it NOW !!

This is my first blog entry here on CD. I wrote it because sometimes by writing, things become clearer and the thoughts put down 'on paper' seem to answer some burning questions or issues which have been simmering in the background for ages.
I have always been told to be aware of the agenda behind the actions. To examine the source of the information and whether it has controlling undercurrents. For me, this means I dont want to be taken advantage of or to be conned into doing things which I think might be 'good' but in reality are 'bad' or negative.
I better state my beliefs up-front because there are probably people who will stop reading after this paragraph. I believe my Earthly self is just one part of a whole group of individuals which make up a larger 'me', a kind of soul group. This larger 'me' is composed of the knowledge, understanding and experience of all these collective individuals and their individual lifetimes on Earth and other places.
If you have the viewpoint that we are only here for one lifetime, it makes perfect sense because it is said we are eventually judged by our thoughts and deeds - and no-one wants to be a bad person do they? On the other hand, if you take the view that we are eternal beings on a journey to become spiritually mature and wise, then it does not make sense at all. People who believe in this one-lifetime stuff are constantly telling us that the 'devil' and 'evil' and negaive forces pose as the good guys and it is easy to be tricked by them. This may be where my cautious attitude comes from.
When you have all eternity to learn your lessons, you are bound to have been (yes, reincarnation) both a good guy and a bad guy and the only way you know the good stuff from the bad stuff is by experiencing both and choosing the one which is best for you as a spiritual being.
It seems to me that we are only exposed to things of a spiritual and paranormal nature (both good and bad) because we have made that directed move towards wanting to know more. We have either asked to be shown or we have done something which means we are curious for more than just an Earthly life in a physical body. Many people are quite content to live their lives in total ignorance of anything spiritual or paranormal at all and many of these people when asked, do not experience anything of this nature.
All this writing was prompted by me wondering why I could not do {insert any spiritual skill here} and I was thinking that maybe it was determined by guides/teachers/God/whoever that I should not have this ability at the moment. Then I thought "Who are you to tell me I cannot have this ability?". Was I being controlled and manipulated by someone who can say yes/no to what I get, and what was their agenda in saying no to me wanting a spiritual ability? (see the second paragraph of this article)
Again, so when you have all eternity there is no rush, no time limit in which to get things done. A lifetime is just a speck in the existence of the Universe and there is plenty of time for all possible skills and mastery to be learned and honed to perfection. From my perspective here in 3D Earth life, I want this skill NOW. However, from another perspective, a broader one, maybe it is better to wait until I have other skills first, more understanding perhaps before I get my ability, so that I can use it better and with more effectiveness.
Now that I have written all this, I have more perspective on my existence. I can be more patient and accepting about the skills I have and why the ones I want are not forthcoming to me. Dont get me wrong, I have much to be grateful for and the Universe just continues to deliver what I need when I need it. This being so, I kind-of understand now that anything I dont yet have is in the pipeline for me and I am not quite ready. I dont have the required experience for the responsibility which goes with the skill.
