Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Luke 6:7-8 - "And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, 'Rise up, and stand forth in the midst.' And he arose and stood forth."

Jesus says “rise up”. Rise up is the root word for resurrection. I need to get up higher than my current perception. I need to come to a place where I am looking at things from a more inspired view-point. Resurrection is a life on a brand new dimension. It does not matter what my current reality is. It simply becomes the opportunity for God’s power to be manifested in the midst of impossibility. Jesus tells me to rise up! I hear His voice and the promises He gives me in scriptures.

Luke 6:9-10 - And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?” After looking around at them all, He said to him, “Stretch out your hand!” And he did so; and his hand was restored.

I have to be willing to stretch beyond what I think is possible. i.e. My reach needs to exceed my grasp. I have to stretch from my spirit man through faith.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 - "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."

I do not stop until I experience the presence of God. I stretch my faith in the direction of the destiny God has for me.

AFFIRMATIONS:

As the Spirit of the Lord works in me I become more and more like Him.

I allow Christ to change me as I cease struggling, cease wrestling, and cease striving against Him.

I am becoming a holy place where God can rest.

"He that believeth on me....out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." - John 7:38

The very life of the risen Christ in us is moving us to do His will. We are partakers of the divine nature to manifest the life of Jesus to the world.

"Others mocking said, 'these men are full of new wine.'" - Acts 2:13

"New wine" - a new order, new inspiration, new manifestation, a new creation. It is God's mind to fill us with that wine, to make us ready to burst forth with new rivers, fresh energy, no tired feeling.
What shall we do?
Believe -- stretch out -- press on -- let there be a new entering in -- a new passion to have it. We must drink deeply of the new wine, that the ones God has given us to influence and disciple may be satisfied and find satisfaction too.

"Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." - Philippians 3:21

The body being so operated by the Spirit in the process of changing through affirming and meditating on His Word until we are like unto Him.
Being filled with the Spirit we are so hungry, so thirsty, that nothing will satisfy us but seeing Jesus. Getting more thirsty every day, more dry every day, until the floods come, and the Master passes by, ministering unto us and through us, and through us the same life, the same inspiration, that as He is, so are we in this world.
