Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

I've Got Blisters On My Ears That My Mask Needs A Rest

Posted 10-08-2020 at 07:30 PM by case44

My latest situation reminds me of a Johnny Cash song. Look, I know we've got to keep wearing our masks as long as there's a smidgen of COVID still lurking out there in the hinterlands. If only this writer could just take a break for a few days and not wear this mask at all. Well, you know that I'd have to stay inside my lovely abode and not go out, and I mean, at all. The urgency to keep our masks on just won't go away yet.

Wish it could.

I'll always wash my hands. That's one thing which will never change. Aaaaahhh, how people just get into one situation after another, right? But Case has another issue, and it's certainly an unintended consequence of constant mask wearing.

Blisters.

That's right, sports fans. Blisters. On my ears. And they don't feel very pleasant. As a matter of fact, they hurt. Ladies, I know you like my ears , but you'll need to wait before laying those hot hands and lips on them. Now just isn't the time. Right this instant, this writer has some Bactine at his disposal. It's supposed to be good for blisters, so I'll have to apply to those locations for now, at least until things settle down a bit. Pandemics come and go, and this COVID crap will go, too.

Oh, that Johnny Cash song I referred to in the opening sentence? Here's the link to his song. It's entitled "Blistered". Enjoy for now.
