Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Case Gets Ready To Rumble By Gladly Joining

Posted 12-16-2020 at 07:59 PM by case44

A few days, I decided to take a stand, if not try something brand new. I've long been a subscriber to YouTube, as I've used it as both a respite and a source for information. But like a lot of folks across the country, I had gotten sick and tired of that website's penchant for censorship of conservative voices. Something needed to change.

Good thing the internet has options out there. I'm especially glad that there is another video service out there, and that's Rumble. By now, many of you out there may have heard of it. It's a fledgling website, as it's still getting its feet wet, but many people are coming into the fray and giving it a chance. Heck, The Case took the plunge. Who needs censorship? There's a real opportunity for growth on Rumble, just as there was on YouTube many, many years ago when I got addicted to it. Others had, but now, with Big Tech becoming more and more of a nanny state, the exodus is only beginning. TV stations, authors, talk show hosts, and ordinary, everyday people are getting into putting new videos on Rumble. Now, I can still go on YouTube if I want music, because, good grief, I have shared various songs from that service with our C-D family on our music threads for many years. As far as politics and things that matter, however, it had become time for a new outlet, so I got ready to Rumble!

I also wonder whatever happened to that announcer who used to do that for big events? Nevertheless, your writer hopes to see new and exciting things in a new venue, all the while staying as informed as possible without any old nanny telling me I can't. Come on now, this is America.

For those who are new to Rumble, let me preach patience. It's going to take some time for the topics to grow and the range of topics and ideas to expand.

Rumble will eventually become bigger than YouTube, and that certainly will come over time. I'm like you, I had gotten tired of the nonsensical bias that is rampant on that service.
