Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Living In His Reality

Posted 02-14-2024 at 09:38 AM by Albert Finch

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for you , O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God." - Psalm 42:1,2

He wants us to live in His reality more than we do. Our heart's desire is central to keeping this flow of the Spirit in our lives. We have to want to live experientially with God. It cannot be enough to just "know" some things. There needs to be a desire to experience God and know that you have something real to share with others. It is the fire of our desire that drives us to pursue God at a higher level of commitment, consecration, and dedication.

Isaiah 55:6 - "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near."

Tenacity with God is valuable. This is the attitude that says, "I will not let go until You bless me!" (see Genesis 32:26-28). If we don't have this mindset, we will settle for less. God does not want us to be soft, but diligent, determined, and even somewhat demanding. We ask, seek, and knock (Matthew 7:7) until we come to understand our Christ calling so we will be effective in advancing His Kingdom.

Psalm 77:6 - "I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search."

Faith pleases God. He is looking for someone with a heart to advance His Kingdom in the earth. He will deal with the rest of the quirks in our lives. He wants to see some action! This kind of determination will cause breakthroughs to occur in our lives and keep the river of His presence flowing as we move from glory to glory and bear fruit that remains for His Kingdom through our Christ calling.
