Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Praying The Psalms - 7

Posted 03-07-2024 at 04:08 PM by Albert Finch

In you, O Lord, I take refuge; into your hand I commit my spirit, God of truth. (Psalm31:1,8)

You bring me out of the hidden snare, for You O Lord, art my defender; I rejoice and am glad in Your lovingkindness. (Psalm 31:4,7)

For your namesake, you will lead me and guide me, for you are my stronghold. (Psalm 31:3,4)

I confide in you, O LORD: I say, You are my God; may your face shine on your servant. (Psalm 31:14,16)

You are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble. I celebrate You, Lord Jesus, with joyous songs of salvation. (Psalm 32:7)

The LORD says, "I will instruct you. I will teach you the way that you should go. I will advise you as my eyes watch over you." (Psalm 32:8)

I rejoice and delight myself in the Lord, since I am righteous in Christ Jesus. (Psalm 32:11)

I sing to Him a new song of praise and shout for joy. (Psalm 33:3)

My soul waits for the Lord for He is my help and shield. (Psalm33:20)

My heart rejoices in Jesus because I trust in His holy name. (Psalm 33:21)

Why pray the Psalm scriptures out loud?

It is hard to think about something other than what you are talking about. Praying out loud the scriptures solves the problem of the wandering mind. -- spoken words speak to the soul and have the power of raising thoughts in the soul. The Psalm scriptures speak of God in the Highest manner which most fully expresses the power and presence of God.
