My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

The Lord helps me in my business!

Posted 09-27-2009 at 07:56 PM by carlos123

I want to post a copy of a thread I started (on another forum) where I talk about how God helped me when I had come to the end of my rope in my new Adsense business.

I want to post this not only to share with you all how the Lord helped me but also to encourage the Christians among you to stand up for God in an appropriate way among those which you are among in your professional lives or otherwise.

We, as Christians, must not let the unbelieving world shut our mouths about how the Lord is a real being who helps us with our needs. Whether we are politicians, business persons, poets, writers, or anything else.

We must give credit and honor to Him no matter what the cost. If we are ostracized or otherwise condemned for doing nothing more than mentioning His name...as long as we have not been foolish as to what we have said and to it's timing...then so be it. Christians cannot escape persecution of one form or another in this world. We need to embrace that reality and not consider our lives so dear to ourselves that we will keep our mouths shut about Him.

Here's the initial post at the thread I started elsewhere. I can't post a link to it here but below is what I said.

----------------------------------------------

This thread will talk about my experience in praying to God for help when I got stuck in a morass of overanalysis and otherwise was stumped as to how to find enough low competition keyword phrases that might make good Adsense web sites.

If you don't like God talk may I suggest that you stop reading right here and go elsewhere? Because if you read on you will most definitely not like what I have to say.

My intention is not to start a religious debate though I am can debate with the best of you about such things. My intention is to show how God can and does help those who call on Him when they are at the end of the proverbial rope.

Today I had come to a low point in my attempt to get started on an Adsense business per the many threads on this forum about how to do that. For some of you it has been relatively easy to pick up and just go for it. Not so with me.

In some respects I have been somewhat handicapped by being overly too analytical and getting bogged down in this or that formula and criteria for picking good keyword phrases. But I have also had to learn much on my own and have not had the benefit of software tools that are generally available only under Windows. Before I set foot in this forum I knew nothing more about Adsense than that they were ads put on websites by Google.

I just couldn't for the life of me figure out how to pick decent keyword phrases to build sites around. Every time I found a few something in them made them impractical for me to focus on. They were trademarked, big Adsense sites showed up in position 1, or otherwise. I just couldn't get past this blockage no matter what I did or how many threads I started with questions here.

But...one thing I had not done till today was ask for God's help. For His specific help in making my way through the wall I had come up against in my thinking.

I know it may seem ironic that I, a Christian, would have neglected to ask for the Lord's help but I did. I think in part because we tend to think of God as someone who will help us spiritually but not in practical matters such as being successful in business for the sake of our families and others whom we might wish to help or provide for (in my case my mother).

But given that I had run to the end of my rope so to speak it finally dawned on me that perhaps I could ask God for help. And boy did He ever!

After I had asked for His blessing on my work telling Him that I really needed the money...I began to once again look for potentially good keywords.

I did nothing different than before. Not really. I started with a list of high paying keywords on a web site I found and began to plug in one's that might interest me to work on and derivatives that I thought of as I went and started to see so many that were low in competition but potentially good one's that tears began to well up in my eyes. At how foolish I had been to not have asked God's help and blessing on my work before.

Of the 66 keyword phrases I analyzed 30 were under 50,000 competition! The average competition among those 30 was 21,065! Bear in mind that these were high paying keywords not just any keyword that came to my mind.

That alone is amazing. Considering that prior to asking for God's help I had not been able to come out with more than 5-6 out of a similar number in the past. Call me dense but this had been my experience to date (with the exception of one time when it seemed that I had been able to pick a lot quickly but which time turned out to be not what it at first seemed).

It is too early to tell how many of the keywords I found today will actually make good one's. There is still more number crunching and analysis of the top sites that appear for each phrase.

But...once again I have come face to face with the fact that God can and does help those who call upon Him in truth with hearts that are dependent on His help. Especially when they are at the end of their rope.

I am not saying that the Lord will always and in every way give everyone who asks for His help success. We must not ask with a view to pursuing our own selfish pursuits. Life is not just about money. We must be willing to surrender ourselves to Him to allow Him to do with us whatever He wills.

But He is a gracious and merciful being who knows what we need and is predisposed because of His love toward us to help us if we will but call on Him in our time of need.

He delights in showing Himself real to those who will call on Him without expectation. Who trust Him enough to say...thy will be done, but who also make their needs known to Him.

If you get a chance read Psalm 107. It is full of instances of God helping those who came to the end of their rope and called out to Him for help.

So if you, my fellow internet marketers, ever get to the end of your rope not just in marketing but in anything else that life may throw at you...may I suggest that you pray? You never know what the Lord in His great mercy and love might do to help you.

    Hi Haller,

Just so you know Haller the post I copied above is to a thread post on another forum. Not a blog. So my posts there are spread out all over the place as I ask questions about how to succeed with building Adsense websites. I've PM'ed you the link to the forum in question (it's strictly an internet marketing forum so it's not like city-data).
