Heroic Story

So, I am in one of these southern states that isn't used to getting snow/ice. . . SmH Anywho, I was looking out my window just admiring the snow/ice and truly just enjoying the days off from work, YIPPEE!!! I noticed a few cars cruising by going who knows where... Well, I then noticed a lady walking with her child I was wondering why she was walking in this [horrible] weather with her young child [toddler age]. So, I throw on a coat and some shoes (already had pants on ) and I walk outside to ask if she needed anything b/c I know a few people's electricity had went out by now. I was walking and talking with her and suddenly a van was coming down the street and apparently had hit some black ice [OMGoodness I thought to myself]... So, I look at that woman, look at the van, look at the child, look at the van. . . I try to determine where the van is going to end up at as it relates to our position on the side of the street (no sidewalk)... Well, I pick up the child and grab the woman's hand and begin to run in a direction to avoid being hit by this gargantuan sized van [that's how big it seemed at the time]. So, up ahead was a ditch (I figured we'd slide down in there and we should be safe)... Well, I tell the woman to get close to ditch and if possible get to the other side just in case the van falls in the ditch [HUGE ditch]. So, she goes and me with the child I decide to "slide" down into the ditch on my butt while holding the child... Well, that worked out until my leg hit some ice in the bottom of the ditch. . . . . . I drove my self to the urgent care facility and found out that I broke my tibia in my right leg... All I can say is when doing the right thing goes wrong.
Moral of the story --- mind ya business.

No sir! You did a great service. What if those two were hit by the van? Great Courage!
