Do you think there's a lot of drama on city data? This is something I was just thinking about. Supposedly, drama is a middle school/high school thing. But it seems like some posters are full of drama. I believe the age to join city data is 16, so that means the majority of posters are too old to be acting this way. And some of these drama-causing posters are well over 16.

I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. Moderators, feel free to move the thread if you want to.

Some people just can't live without creating drama around them. Most of that drama is stuff they invite themselves into. They complain about it, but it seems if they really wanted to, they don't have to be involved and they just turn it into drama. When someone feels a need to continually create drama in their lives and relationships, this is often a compensation for an underlying emptiness or depression in their lives.
Drama is supported and even honored in our media that it has become transparent for many people. Portrayals of relationships in the movies and soap operas often involve a degree of lying, deception, affairs and general dysfunction in far greater proportion than exists in real lives.
Some people genuinely enjoy it, it's almost like they feed off it. They are attention seeking. That's it!

Yes, it is childish, but it's rampant in online communities.

Just put them on ignore. If they continue to bother you, then report them. It won't keep them from finding other ways to get to you, because where there's a will, there's a way, but it helps.

That's exactly what I won't do. I can handle my problems myself. I don't need to put someone on ignore just because I don't agree with them. I don't need to cry to a moderator just because someone makes me upset.

IMO, the lack of face to face discussion removes the element of accountability that is always present otherwise. THAT is what IMO makes 40 yr olds act like 2 yr olds!

Just going by your status updates, here, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree, as far as who the drama-seekers really are.

Quote:
I have to change my status - Today 09:47 PM

why does city data have 40 year olds that act 8? - Today 08:48 PM

thin-skinned posters can't handle me - Today 05:57 PM

stop trying to get other posters to gang up on me - 10-23-2010 10:18 PM

you can't stop me - 10-23-2010 03:55 PM
If somebody does not want to deal with this kind of attitude, then it's their choice to put someone on ignore. And reporting abuse to a mod and backing away from the discussion is preferable to keeping it on the forum.

My 2 cents.

CD91, I see on another thread you've never been sexual with a woman. Have you ever had girlfriends ?

Once you get into relationships, know people and women the better you'll understand that all of life in general is filled with potential drama. I'm fortunate to be a mature man with enough worldly experience to keep the drama in my life to a bare minimum. I'm smart enough to walk away from people who are nothing but drama.

But when you are looking at problems in relationships, divorces, sex, drugs etc. it is sometimes best to come here and get some good advice from people.

Understanding drama is the start of reducing drama for normal people.
