I am aware it is against the rules to enter the same post in different forums. But just for the sake of discussion and clarification, I will give an example where I don't see the harm in it. I just finished a good book on the history of the Los Angeles Police Department and I posted a short paragraph about it in the Los Angeles sub-forum. But the book sub-forum would have been an equally reasonable place for the same post. However, knowing the rules, I posted a one-liner in the book sub-forum referring to my post in the Los Angeles sub-forum. First, I would assume that my one-liner post is O.K., even though the author and title are mentioned in both posts. (The two posts are not the same). Is this correct?
Second, although I am not arguing for a rule change, does anyone agree that in this particular case, no real harm would have been done, even if the exact same post had appeared in the two forums mentioned?
There are many similar cases. You just need to decide which part of the whole thing you are more interested in discussing. In your example: literature or location.
I hate it when people post THE SAME CONTENT on more than 1 base! (Usually only spammers do this so it really isnt a problem very often)
