How about a forum for "Professions"? There could be sub-forums for popular professions such as legal, medical etc. This would be a good way for people who work in the same field to connect.

I think a legal issues forum might be helpful to some.

I was thinking of something more on the lines of people in the legal profession (i.e. attorneys, paralegals) having a forum to be able to connect to talk about their work experiences etc., not something where legal advice or confidential information would be handed out. That could be included in the guidelines.

How about a zoning/land use forum? A place for folks to ask questions on how permitting works, or even how to deal with neighbors when it comes to certain issues (ie parking on property, fencing, encroacment, etc).

Zoning and permits differ from state to state and city to city. It would probably be best to just ask in the local forums.

Then again, so does the people search forum, which I think needs to be eliminated.

How about a new forum on the computers and other electronic "toys" with ratings on computers and all other electronic gadgets with comments from users.
