It seems to me that there are more and more boxes and links above and to the right of the main view. After clicking them all away, they are gone for the rest of the day, but the next day they are all back again.
Would be nice to have a settings option "Show boxes and links" - Yes/No

Huh??????

Could you please explain what these boxes and links say? A little better description would be helpful.

If you mean the links for recently visited forums, and active threads or something, I only get those if I clear my temporary files and cookies and become logged off. As soon as I close them, they go away until the next time I delete these things. Do you log off every day?

Yes, I mean those links where you are invited to participate in a contest etc.
Yes, I have set my browser to clear all browsing data upon closing. So it is a bit annoying having to click half a dozen times each day to get rid of those links and boxes

I do not see any "boxes and links" that I have to click on to make them go away.

I'm using Firefox browser on a desktop PC. You might mention what you are using. You might have some malware on your system causing pop-ups....

It has been discussed before:

I just got this pop up
Setting I need to change? Pop-up appearing all of a sudden
What's the deal with the pop up ads...
Is CD Allowing Pop-ups?

and more...

I never gave it any thought. I just ignore the stuff at the top of the page unless I need it for some reason.

Well, it looks untidy to me, that is why I feel like I need to clean it up

Oh yes, and when I am finished, I wipe the monitor with window cleaner where the links and boxes used to be
