I can see the need for initial restrictions. It's sad they are necessary, but they are, so there ya go.

That said, I'm currently on DM restriction myself, presumably because I haven't made enough posts yet, and it's frustrating. Oh well.

I keep getting this message:

Sorry, you reached your daily limit of -1 Direct Messages.
Date the restriction will be lifted: 01-01-1970 07:00 PM.

Any resolution ?

So you just joined and you are already wanting to send DM's? Interesting. This slow start is to prevent spamming.

Well, as a new member you get one a day. In time you have that lifted. Patience.

I recently joined City-Data after reading a certain forms almost daily for several months. So I do have the need to send an important DM, near the start of my registration. I even received a DM from that person, but I still can't respond for some reason.

I'll have to reply to some forums

Thank you for your help with this! I tried to respond to your DM, but I'm still getting the same error

I tried to make 10 relevant posts, but no luck so far. Any other advice would be appreciated.
