I'll answer this before your thread gets moved. basically if someone likes a post you made, they can add to your reputation, and I think you can only add "good" reputation, not bad. once your thread gets moved to the admin zone or whatever, there will be more people who can answer your question for you.
I have been using this forum for a few years now. I guess I never noticed the "reputation numbers". How do you give someone a reputation point? How do you find out who gave you one?
See the dark blue bar just above your name in the posting box? See the scales? CLick on them and you can enter your own comment or just let it ride and that is what gives you a quick-reputation. There is also a small blue hyperlink at the bottom of post that says "rate this post positively" you can do it there as well.
We used to be able to give negative reps but they took that away some months ago.
