When I click on "My Settings", under "New Subscribed Threads" it lists every single thread I've posted a comment in. This is a different list than the one where I have specifically chosen certain forums to subscribe to.
How do I turn off the setting to automatically subscribe to every thread I post in? I'm not seeing it.
Not sure if this is what you need or not, but go to your Control Panel and scroll down to the bottom of the left-hand column. At the very bottom is a link to "Subscribed Forums." Clicking on that takes you to a list of every forum, and gives you the option of subscribing (or not) to any of them. Look to see if any of the are checked and, if they are, try unchecking them.
If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else will have another (better) suggestion ... ???
Go to My Settings -> Edit Options and scroll down to Messaging & Notification section. There, under the heading Default Thread Subscription Mode, make sure you've chosen "Do not subscribe" as default. Then scroll down to the end of the page and click Save Settings.
After that, you will still have the option to subscribe to any thread you wish but it won't be an automatic process anymore.
Thanks, Marka. That did it. I thought that setting was for only my subscribed forums, not ALL forums.
