For quite some time after discovering the "forums" here, I was unaware that City-data.com also has extensive data pages for most cities including many smaller towns in each state.

I'm betting from the kinds of questions we see asked here over and over again, that most people who come to these forums are also unaware of the wealth of data this site provides.

For example here is a direct link to the page for Austin, TX:

//www.city-data.com/city/Austin-Texas.html

There is an impressive amount of information available here that many visitors to these forums are never aware of.

I'm suggest that each City-Data.com/forum web page should have a link on it to the City-Data.com DATA page.

Your right, it's sad to say many posters just sign up and start posting in the forums that interest them. They don't read the TOS or the FAQ, they just start posting and then they wonder why they get in trouble or start questioning their "Freedom of Speech" rights.

Read the TOS
and The FAQ"s

Pretty simple to me.

We already do something like what you're proposing here, but only for guests. It is possible that we will enable links to info pages for registered members too (they could be easily disabled).

I'm still finding that very few registered users at City-Data seem to be aware of the DATA pages that are available. They frequently ask questions that are easily answered by looking at the DATA pages.
