I've been researching Akron, and at first I thought it would be amazing to live their. As I learned more, I was having second thoughts. I want good schools (not colleges), low crime rate, many activities, and places to go with my family. I have three young kids, and I want them to enjoy where they live. If you do not recommend Akron, please suggest other places in Northern Ohio similar to Akron. (Especially the weather)

Thank You!

I love Akron.
However, I only have myself to worry about (I have no children).
For the safe, good-school route around this area, I would say Fairlawn or Hudson. Altho, as far as the fun factor, I would rate both of those cities below Akron.

Don't move to Akron. There are TONS of suburbs off of Akron that are much better. I'm from Green (about 10 minutes South of Akron on 77) & the schools are excellent, the neighborhoods are great, & the majority of the crime in Green are domestic violence/ family issues. Hudson is nice if you're looking for a ritzy upscale place. They have expensive homes & great schools. It's North of Akron. I'm telling you, move to Green... it's great!!!

oooohhhhh yeah. and then there's Green. The place that is always forgetten lol (sry but it kind of is). Green has .......uhhhh parks?

Point is - do you want to live in/really close to a city or do you want to live in suburbia?

Cuyahoga Falls and Stow are other good choices.

canton is just like it...

northeastern ohio is all one state of mind. if you are happy in any place in it, you will likely be happy in any other place in it. the cities are all steadily slipping toward death, but have some good suburbs.

the weather will be four seasons with little to no natural disasters. cleveland gets most of the lake effect, but it also the biggest city.

Is the 1000 block of Collinwood Ave a decent place to live? I am a single 20 year old looking to move, one of my co-workers has a rental toward the end of the street.
