Hi. I'm looking for help with rental areas in Montgomery. My husband is being transfered to a store location at the Eastdale Mall. We don't want to stay too far away since we are new to the city. I've read other forums about the surrounding suburbs but we don't want it to be a 20 min drive with our first year in the city. We are not looking for schools at the moment. Our son is only 2. Just looking for a 2 bedroom. Nice area no more then 700per month. Also maybe duplex/townhouses set up. Thank you so much

I suggest calling Stowers Management to inquire about a rental at their nice, small townhouse complex at the intersection of Narrow Lane Road and East Fairview Avenue. They have some nice two bed/two bathrooms for $700. 334-263-3801. Good area and only ten to fifteen minutes from Eastdale.

The immediate vicinity around Eastdale is not very good or safe. It used to be, but has gone down dramatically over the last five to six years.

I'm going to argue the post above. That's pretty much across town from Eastdale. 10 minutes drive from Cloverdale? I seriously doubt that.

Dalraida about a mile west of Eastdale is nice. And about a mile to the east there are nice neighborhoods around the Auburn Montgomery campus.

Eastdale becoming dangerous? It's an extremely commercial area at the intersection of two major thoroughfares/hwys. In it's present incarnation it was never very livable. Pretty much what you would expect.

Narrow Lane Road and East Fairview close to Eastdale Mall? Not likely.

[quote=Trojan1998;33392914]I can get from Narrow Lane/East Fairview over to Eastdale in 15 minutes. I live next to Huntingdon College. I drive up College, take a right on Carter Hill, take a left on Mulberry, take the I-85 ramp, shoot up I-85 a few miles, take the Eastern Blvd. exit, and then drive the mile or less over to Eastdale. Piece of cake. 15 minutes tops.

This ain't Atlanta, folks. I travel all over the country with my job; big cities from Los Angeles to Austin to Miami, and Montgomery is a breeze.
