I remember when Amtrak stopped here in Atmore back in the early 90s. It would stop at the depot and there wouldn't be anyone waiting to board it. I have no idea why some of the town leaders were trying so hard to bring it back.

The captain of the tugboat that hit the bridge leading to the derailment of the Sunset Limited back in '93 was actually a local man from Davisville. He had a very tough time in the years afterward knowing all of those people had been killed.

Well, younger people are not buying cars, uber is only worth it so far, and China is killing us in infrastructure especially rail.
